Portability on a budget
Love listening to good quality music on the go but can’t find an affordable PMP?
Love listening to good quality music on the go but can't find an affordable PMP? Enter is a brand that provides a super budget category of Personal Media players, enabling just about anyone to enjoy movies and music, on the go. Let's push play on their new MP4 player.
Design and features
The new E-MP35 is lightweight, with Enter's typical red and black exoskeleton. There are three symmetrically arranged columns of buttons on either side.
Feature wise, this player is nice, with drag and drop capabilities for DivX/ Xvid videos, WMVs and RMVB videos while for audio, there's extensive support in the form of FLAC, MP3 and WMA. It claims to read ebooks, and also has regular goodies like FM radio, voice recording (mic on back panel) and picture viewer.
UI and performance
The UI is quite pleasant to look at, with the list on the left side and an animated icon representing the current selection, on the right side. The audio output is loud and clean at high levels, with no real distortion.
Videos work okay but there is a glitch; you can't watch them in their real aspect ratio — the player just doesn't make it right with the resolution of videos. Thus, everything plays in 4:3, and faces are stretched. Ebook reader only reads .TXT files, no PDFs. Battery life, again, is decent — we got about 4 hours and 25 minutes on video playback and 12 hours on music.
The MRP for a 2 GB player is ₹3,200 and that for a 4 GB player is ₹3,700, which is surely reasonable. The screen quality is not good, and you can't even play videos in their real aspect ratio. But the overall functionality is quite nice and the mentioned audio-video formats play well.
All in all, it's good for those on a very stringent budget but still want to watch videos on the move.
