First launching in July 2015 on PlayStation 4 and Windows PC, "Rocket League" was an immediate success on both computer and console.

Helped in part by the fact that PlayStation Plus members guaranteed it an instantaneous audience -- anyone who had signed up for online access got "Rocket League" for free -- the game also built on lessons its underdog independent studio had learnt not only with its spiritual predecessor but through a number of high-profile collaborations with big name franchises: "Unreal Tournament," "Gears of War," "Mass Effect," "XCOM."

"Rocket League" become one of the year's must-plays.

Combining the whizz and crash of remote control cars, the team dynamics of a reduced-numbers soccer match, and the spectacle of slow-motion replays, "Rocket League" took a giant leap from the shoulders of a little-known PlayStation 3 game, "Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars," enjoying an enthusiastic critical, commercial, and community reception as a result.

Since then, several packs of optional additional content have been released for the game, and three of them will be included as part of the Xbox One edition.

The $19.99 download comes with the Supersonic Fury pack, the "SARPBC"-referencing Revenge of the Battle-Cars pack, and the more recent Chaos Run pack, which together offer 6 more cars, 36 decals, 8 paint types, 6 rocket trails, 6 wheels, 7 toppers and 5 antennas.

As Xbox-exclusive and Xbox-centric bonuses, there'll also be two extra vehicles, one modelled after The Armadillo from "Gears of War" and one homaging the Warthog from "Halo," as well as a handful of other decorative items themed after another Xbox game, "Sunset Overdrive."
