A number of announcements grabbed the spotlight today. Among them were Twitter launching Bitcoin tips feature, Amazon Prime Video announcing Channels, Vivo X70 series getting a launch date and Google revealing that an Android update is coming soon.

Friday was a day full of big revelations in the world of technology. While Twitter announced that it has started rolling out a Bitcoin-based tipping option in its app, Amazon India introduced a new functionality called Prime Video Channels, Vivo confirmed it will be launching its new flagship Vivo X70 series smartphones in India and Google announced new features for its Android OS. Twitter rolls out Bitcoin tips option

Twitter said that users will be able to tip others in Bitcoin using a payments application built on the Bitcoin Lightning Network called Strike, which allows people to send and receive Bitcoin instantly globally. Twitter also said that it is also planning to add support authenticating NFTs or non-fungible tokens by letting people connect their crypto wallets.

Amazon Prime Video Channels announced

Amazon India today introduced a new functionality called Prime Video Channels that will give Prime members seamless access to content from other popular OTT services. Amazon Prime Video Channels will be available in India starting September 24 and it will act as an intermediary and give Prime members the option of streaming content from popular OTT services on the Amazon Prime Video app and website in India.

Amazon Great Indian Festival 2021 date announced

Amazon India today announced it will be hosting the Amazon Great Indian Festival 2021 in India next month. The annual sale will begin on October 4. During the course of the sale, Amazon India will offer an instant discount of 10% purchases made using their HDFC Bank Credit and Debit Cards, EMI transactions and no cost EMI.

Vivo X70 series launching on Sep 30

Vivo has confirmed launching its new flagship X70 series smartphones in India. The successor to the X60 series will be unveiled in India on September 30 at 12 noon via an online event. However, Vivo hasn't revealed the number of models in the pipeline or the expected prices yet.

New Android features coming this season

Google has announced a major update for its Android OS that brings a host of new features including the ability to control smartphones using facial gestures, using your smartphone as a TV remote, and adding photos and videos to a passcode-protected space. The list also includes 1,500 new emojis that will be available in Gboard this fall.
