The Flint Center for the Performing Arts in Cupertino, California, will play host to Apple's most significant launch event since the release of the original iPad. In typical Apple fashion, details of the event are shrouded in secrecy. The tech giant's construction of a mysterious white structure outside the Flint Center has added even more intrigue to the big unveil.

We take a look at what might be announced at the event:

1. iPhone 6: This one seems almost certain. Apple is expected to release the newest version of its flagship device with a much larger 5.5 inch screen. Most flagship devices from competitors like Sony, Samsung, HTC have made the jump to the 5-inch plus bracket and now Apple seems set to push the iPhone too in that direction.

2. iPhone 6 4.7 inch: If the rumours turn out to be true, then Apple might not be ready to fully ditch the small screen size phone. This means that the tech giant may also release a 4.7 inch device: an iPhone 6 mini of sorts. Except Sony, most smartphone makers offer severely crippled down sub-5 inch versions of their phones branded as 'Mini editions'. If Apple keeps the specs the same on both devices (just as it does on the iPad Air and mini), it'll be able to compete on two fronts.

3. iWatch: Apple's big entry into the wearable tech area is expected to be the launch of the iWatch. The iWatch device is shrouded in secrecy, but Apple is expected to make a big play for the so far underwhelming wearable market with it. Rumored iWatch features include a curved display, wireless charging and a focus on fitness and health; possibly linked to the Health app that Apple launched at its Worldwide Developers' Conference in June.

4. iPad Air 2: A new iPad launch is unlikely as Apple likes to keep the iPhone and iPad launches separate. But some rumours suggest that an upgraded iPad with a finger print scanner to improve security will be among the starting line-up tonight.
