Yes it's that time of the year again when we chew your ear off about E3, the Electronic Entertainment Expo. E3 is the definitive expo for video games across the globe where developers, journalists and gamers alike come together to celebrate their love for games.

E3 has been declining in scope over the past few years thanks to growing costs and the recession. However this "Mecca of gaming" as I like to call it, is slowly but surely getting back on its feet and this year's E3 has the potential of being the best E3 ever!

Here's why For starters we have Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo locked in a three-way battle, fighting for Motion Controlled Gaming supremacy. Microsoft is all set to unveil Project Natal, which if all works well, could revolutionise gaming, since in Natal the player is the controller. Sony's PlayStation Move may not be terribly original but it has the potential to draw in hardcore gamers, something the Wii has not successfully been able to do over the years.

On the software front perhaps the biggest announcement could be of Grand Theft Auto V, which if rumours are to be believed may take place in Vice City, something I know a lot of GTA fans would die to get a glimpse of. Rockstar may end up dominating the show with their PS3-exclusive Agent along with the long overdue L.A. Noire and the much-awaited Max Payne 3.

Both Sony and Microsoft will also have their 300lb gorillas slugging it out mano e mano. Yes I am talking about Killzone 3 going up against Gears of War 3. While Microsoft may have tonnes of surprises for us considering they have two press conferences this year, Sony isn't one to back down and rumour has it that they're planning on giving critically acclaimed titles like Ico and Shadow of the Colossus among others, an HD treatment just like they did for the God of War Collection.

We also hope to receive any sort of information on games like Hitman 5, Thi4f, the new Need for Speed game, any sort of Half Life-related news and much more.

So yes if all goes as planned E3 2010 could end up being the best E3 ever, one that's capable of shaping the very future of video games. E3 2010 will take place at the Staples Center, Los Angeles California from June 15 to 17.
