Xiaomi launches Redmi 9 series smartphones, Mi Smart Band 5, Mi TV Stick and more
Xiaomi launched a bunch of new products including the Redmi 9 series smartphones, Mi Smart Band 5, 34-inch Mi Curved Gaming Monitor, Mi TV Stick, Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic and Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2.
Xiaomi on Wednesday hosted its Global Ecosystem Product launch event. At the event, which was held virtually in light of the pandemic, the company launched a host of new home ecosystem products ranging from a gaming monitor to a fitness tracker and an electric scooter. In addition to this, the company also launched its Redmi 9 series smartphones consisting of the Redmi 9, Redmi 9A and Redmi 9C.

Redmi 9 price and specs
The Xiaomi Redmi 9 sports a 6.53-inch full HD+ display with a dot drop notch on top. It comes with TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It is powered by MediaTek Helio G80 processor that is coupled with up to 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage space that can be expanded further using a microSD card with up to 512GB space. It runs on Android 10-based MIUI 11.

In terms of the camera, Redmi 9 comes with a quad rear camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel wide-angle lens, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide angle lens, a 5-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. It has an 8-megapixel camera on the front.
For security the phone has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and AI face unlock technology. It is backed by a 5020mAh battery that supports 18W wired fast charging technology.
The Redmi 9 costs EUR 149 ( ₹12,795 approximately) for the 3GB+32GB variant and EUR 169 ( ₹14,500 approximately) for the 4GB+64GB variant and will be available in Carbon Grey, Ocean Green, and Sunset Purple colour variants.
Redmi 9C price and specs
The Redmi 9C comes with a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a dot drop notch. It is powered by MediaTek Helio G35 chipset that is coupled with up to 3GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage capacity that can be expanded further using a 512GB microSD card. It runs on Android 10-based MIUI 11 and it comes with a 5,000mAh battery.

On the camera front, the Redmi 9C consists of a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 13-megapixel primary lens, a 2-megapixel macro sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front it has a 5-megapixel selfie camera. It has AI face unlock technology for security and it comes with a 3.5mm jack for connectivity.
The Redmi 9C costs EUR 119 ( ₹10,224 approximately) for 2GB + 32GB variant and EUR 139 ( ₹11,940 approximately) for 3GB + 64GB variant and it is available in Midnight Gray, Sunrise Orange and Twilight Blue colour variants.
Redmi 9A price and specs
The Redmi 9A comes with a 6.53-inch HD+ display with a dot drop notch. It is powered by MediaTek Helio G25 that is coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of storage space that can be expanded further using a microSD card. It runs on Android 10 based MIUI 11 and it is backed by a 5000mAh battery.

On the camera front, the entry level Redmi 9A comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. It also comes with a 3.5mm jack.
The Redmi 9A costs EUR 99 ( ₹8,503 approximately) and it is available in Granite Gray, Peacock Green and Sky Blue colour variants.
Mi Smart Band 5 price and specs
Xiaomi also launched Mi Smart Band 5 at the event. The fitness tracker was launched in China last month. It comes with a large 1.1-inch color AMOLED display, which the company says is 20% bigger than its predecessor. It is water resistant up to 5 ATM and it comes with a gigantic battery that supports upto 14 days of continuous usage.

In terms of features, the Mi Smart Band 5 comes with 11 exercise modes, including indoor cycling, elliptical, yoga, rowing machine, and jump rope. It comes with a heart rate sensor that can also give details about the user's sleep status, stress and levels. Additionally, it gathers all the matrices and outputs a Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI) value for users to easily understand their health level.
Mi Smart Band 5 costs EUR 39.99 ( ₹3,432 approximately) but users can also enjoy an early bird price at EUR 34.99 ( ₹3,000 approximately).
Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2
Xiaomi also launched Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 that can travel up to 45km at speeds up to 25 km per hour. It comes with a built-in LCD that lets riders view and control a wide range of parameters such as real-time speed, riding mode and monitor headlight status with one quick glance.

It features a 300W powerful motor and a 2W headlight that illuminates up to 10 meters ahead. In terms of battery capacity, the Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 can effortlessly climb 20% incline slopes and accommodate a week's worth of trips on a single charge.
The Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 is priced at EUR 499 ( ₹42,846 approximately).
Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic
This device comes with dual-mic environmental noise cancellation technology that filters background noise with one mic while picking up the user's voice with the other. It comes with an in-ear detection feature that automatically pauses when one earphone is removed. It supports advanced SBC/AAC codecs and it comes with a battery that offers 5 hours of uninterrupted use from a full charge. Users can get a total battery life of 20 hours from the three additional charges from its case.

The Mi True Wireless Earphones Basic cost EUR 39.99 ( ₹3,433 approximately). However, users can get it for EUR 29.99 ( ₹2,575 approximately) as a part of the early bird offer.
Mi TV Stick
Xiaomi also launched the Mi TV stick at the event. It will compete with the likes of Amazon Fire TV Stick and Google Chromecast in the market.

In terms of features, the Mi Fire TV Stick is powered by a quad-core CPU that is coupled with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage capacity. It features Android TVTM, Dolby and DTS surround sound support, and built-in Google Assistant and Chromecast. Mi TV Stick comes with a Bluetooth remote control with dedicated buttons for Google Assistant, Netflix, and Prime Video.
The Mi TV Stick costs EUR 39.99 ( ₹3,433 approximately).
34-inch Mi Curved Gaming Monitor
Lastly, the company announced a 34-inch gaming monitor that comes with a WQHD display with a resolution of 3440×1440 pixels and a 1500R curvature. It comes with a refresh rate of 144Hz and features up to 300 nits of adjustable brightness.
