Xiaomi Smarter Living 2022: Mi Notebook, Mi Band 6, router and more set for launch

Xiaomi has announced the date for its next event. The company will be hosting the Xiaomi Smarter Living 2022 event on August 26. It will start at 12 noon. According to Xiaomi India Chief Business Officer, Raghu Reddy, the company will be unveiling a set of new IoT products. He told Moneycontrol that Xiaomi will launch a new Wi-Fi router and a security camera. Moreover, in an interaction with India Today, he said that you can expect the launch of a new Mi Notebook and Mi Band 6.

Xiaomi is expected to launch a Mi Notebook refresh with several new features. To recall, the current Mi Notebook lineup doesn't offer an integrated web camera or a backlit keyboard - both of these features are usually a part of the competitors' offerings. According to the teasers, the upcoming Mi Notebook will come equipped with a backlit keyboard. Moreover, it will sport an integrated webcam that will also help with Windows Hello. You will also get a fingerprint sensor alongside Windows Hello for authentication.

Raghu mentioned that the original Mi Notebook 14 series launched last year will be discontinued following the launch of the new laptops. The list of previously-launched notebooks include Mi Notebook 14, Mi Notebook 14 Horizon Edition and Mi Notebook 14 e-learning edition. “The new Mi Notebook will be a serious upgrade on what we had to offer last year. You will see a lot of class-leading features on the new model. We believe that the creator economy wants laptops that are not just good from the processing point of view but, also from the display point of view. That's what you will get to see on the new Mi Notebook,” Reddy said.

Coming to the Mi Band 6, the device features a 1.56-inch AMOLED touchscreen display and offers up to 14 days of battery life on a single charge. It comes with 30 sports models. Plus, it can auto-detect six activities like walking, running, indoor treadmill and cycling. You also get 24×7 blood pressure monitoring, blood oxygen (SPO2), heart-rate monitoring and sleep tracking.
