Google has issued a new Google Chrome update to patch the zero-day bug in the highly-used internet browser. The Stable channel update introduced version 103.0.5060.114 for users across the world. This new update comes with a pair of security fixes, including a "type confusion" vulnerability designated as CVE-2022-2294. The bug is a high severity heap-based buffer overflow weakness in the WebRTC (Web Real-Time Communications) component. Jan Vojtesek of the Avast Threat Intelligence team informed Google about this bug on Friday, July 1. Google in one of its blog posts mentioned that the bug is already being exploited in the wild.

However, with the new Google Chrome update rolling out the bug is likely to get fixed. The company hasn't shared any technical details or any info regarding these incidents. The new version of Google Chrome can be updated automatically for the user, those who haven't received this yet can follow these steps to get the new Chrome update. How to check if you're using the new updated version of Chrome or not?

If you want to know whether you have received the new updated version, click on the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of your desktop screen and select Settings. Next tap on “About Chrome'' available at the bottom to check the Chrome version. If you're using version 103.0.5060.114, you're safe else you can get the new update this way. Also Read: Good news! Step 1:

Open Google Play Store on your device and tap on the profile icon on the top-right of the screen. 

Step 2:

Next, click on Manage Apps and Devices and look for the update available for different apps.

You will see the Chrome icon with update next to it, if you haven’t one. 

Step 4:

Click on update to get the latest version of Chrome.
