ASUS announces ROG Master APAC eSports tournament

The country qualifiers matches for India will begin on April 8 and the finals will be held on April 10.

ASUS on Thursday announced that it will host its first esports tournament between March and April 2021. The company said that it will host the first ROG Masters Asia Pacific eSports tournament from March to April 2021.

The entire tournament will be held virtually owing to Covid-19 pandemic affecting travel around the region. The quarter-finals and final matches will be live-streamed for fans and gamers around the world to see and enjoy.

The two month-long event will witness various teams from 15 markets across the Asia Pacific region playing Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) in a bid to be crowned as the first ROG Masters Asia Pacific Edition CS:GO Champion.

The tournament will take place in three stages, which will include country qualifiers, country finals and Asia Pacific finals. The country qualifiers matches for India will begin on April 8 and the finals will be held on April 10. These matches will be live-streamed via ASUS ROG India's Facebook page and YouTube channels. A similar technique will be followed in other participating countries as well.

Top three teams in the country qualifiers will head over to the finals. These teams will stand to win $800 ( 58,327 approx.) for first place, $400 ( 29,160 approx.) for second place and $200 ( 14,580 approx.) for third place.

Asus says that the country champions will then go on to experience battling winning teams from other APAC markets in the finals that will be live-streamed from April 22 to April 25. While the winner will get $10,000 ( 7,29,000 approx.), the team to bag the second spot will get $3,500 ( 2,55,150 approx.), while the team to bag the third spot will get $1,500 ( 1,09,344 approx.).
