Flipkart acquires mobile gaming firm Mech Mocha

Bengaluru-based Mech Mocha offers content in seven Indian languages. Following the acquisition, the Mech Mocha team will join Flipkart.

Flipkart on Tuesday announced the acquisition of Intellectual Property from Mech Mocha, a mobile gaming startup that runs India's first live-social gaming platform 'Hello Play'. With the acquisition, Mech Mocha's team will join Flipkart in a bid to help the e-commerce company strengthen its gaming strategy.

Bengaluru-based Mech Mocha is a popular social mobile gaming platform. Available in seven Indian languages, it has more than 10 games including popular Indian multiplayer games such as Ludo, Carrom, Snakes & Ladder and Cricket.

Co-founded by Arpita Kapoor and Mohit Rangaraju, Mech Mocha has received backing from top investors such as Accel Partners, Blume Ventures and Shunwei Capital. The Mech Mocha team will work under Prakash Sikaria, Vice-President at Flipkart.
