PUBG 8.1 update with new Sanhok map rolling out on July 22
PUBG 8.1 update is scheduled to roll out on July 22 and it brings the biggest changes to Sanhok.
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds is slated for a new season soon. The highlight of this season will be a revamped Sanhok map. The new PUBG 8.1 update has gone live on PUBG's test servers and the stable version will roll out on July 22.
The new Sanhok map has gone through a major revamp from the ground up. PUBG developers said the Sanhok makeover was designed to make the map “feel more like a forgotten, overgrown paradise while addressing some of the most glaring balance issues we've seen over the last couple of years.”
Bootcamp in Sanhok looks quite different now. The update has brought in more line of sight for long range shootings and players also get lots of areas for cover. Bootcamp also has underground areas for close combat. The stone blocks in the Quarry are now bigger so that players can get better cover from their opponents. There are some rope bridges in the Quarry as well.

The Mongnai farm area has been replaced with a new airfield. The reason behind this change is that the farm didn't attract players as expected. The new airfield in Sanhok will also feature the Motor Glider. Another location that has been replaced is the dock area which is now a hotspot for loots. It's called the ‘Getaway' and it features poolside bars, a boardwalk, dance club and more.
More areas in Sanhok like the Ruins, mountain, and cave have gone through some changes as well. Other than changing the look and feel, these areas also have new elements like a temple in the cave. It should be easier to cross rivers in Sanhok now with more bridges and additional cover on existing bridges.
The towns in Sanhok also have more interesting things to explore and offer new ways to fight. The new Loot Truck will also pass by each of these towns. Speaking of which, there will be up to four Loot Trucks spawned at the start of the match. Players have to damage these Loot Trucks as they pass by. More damage to the truck will drop more loot. Those who manage to completely destroy the Loot Truck will get an even bigger array of weapons and gear. But mind you these trucks will not break down easily.
The updated Sanhok map is part of the PUBG 8.1 update. There are more features and improvements in this new update which will be available on July 22 for PC and consoles. You can check the full patch notes of PUBG 8.1 here.
