Sonic the Hedgehog game is available on Minecraft now through a new DLC pack
Sega is celebrating its 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog and festivities include Sonic and friends on Minecraft.
Sega is marking the 30th anniversary of Sonic the Hedgehog and celebrations include a new Sonic the Hedgehog game that is playable on Minecraft. There is a new Minecraft Sonic DLC (downloadable content) pack that will allow players to unlock environments from the Sonic universe in Minecraft while navigating obstacles and bosses to collect rings.
This new game was revealed by Sonic the Hedgehog social media account on Twitter that announced the collaboration by stating - “It's Sonic's turn to be yeeted into Minecraft”. The handle also shared a teaser video of the game and you can see Sonic and friends, in the blocky Minecraft style, racing through the gameverse.

The Minecraft Sonic DLC pack includes famous locations like the Green Hills Zone and the Chemical Plant Zone. There are also iconic characters like Knuckles and Tails that are a part of the new game. This DLC will let players "collect rings, dash past obstacles, defeat bosses and build momentum" as they race towards high scores.
As a part of the celebrations, Minecraft is also planning a special server event that will feature mini-games along with a “few festive surprises”. There will be new things to look forward to every weekend and fans have been encouraged to check-in.
This Minecraft Sonic DLC is a part of Sonic the Hedgehog's 30th-anniversary celebrations which will also include the launch of a Sonic Colors remaster. Sega is reportedly also planning a new game, that might be called Sonic Rangers. This game is expected to be launched in 2022.
