Sony’s latest gaming console, the PS5, has finally gone on sale in most countries around the globe. In some regions it even got released on 12th. The customers who have preordered the console can now go and get their hands on it right away. However, gamers in India will still need to wait for it since Sony India is still not out with release dates for the country. The last official piece of information that Sony PlayStation India has communicated to the fans is the price of the regular and Digital Edition of the console along with the accessories.

And this delay doesn’t seem to go well with the Indian gamers community as most have taken it to social media to vent their anger.

While there can be several reasons for the delay, as per MensXP sources, Sony doesn’t want a half-baked launch in India. This means it is trying to avoid a situation where the consoles are not available to majority of the gamers upon launch. This is a something that Microsoft faced with Xbox Series X console in the country.

But, as mentioned by The Mako Reactor website, the decision is taken on the basis of different factors. “Sony India’s hands are tied when it comes to announcing a release date for the country. Decisions for which regions get the PS5 are taken at a global level on the basis of sales and life-time value per user (i.e. how many games, subscriptions, and other services users buy in addition to purchasing a console),” tells the source to the website.

So, while all this still indicate that there is still some time before the consoles hit the shelves, one can be hopeful that it will arrive sooner than later.
