Sony to showcase PS5 games later today, console might make an appearance

Sony is all set to unveil the titles that will be coming to PlayStation 5 (PS5) as and when the console reaches the market. The firm was supposed to hold this event on June 4th but rescheduled it to June 11th following the death of George Floyd and protests that took place. Sony has already confirmed that it will be revealing the first set of games for PS5 but it's not for sure if the console itself will be revealed or not. The event is supposed to begin at 1PM Pacific time (June 12, 1.30am IST).

Sony, in its blog has confirmed that the pre-taped program will be broadcast at 1080p and 30 frames per second. “This eased the show's production process during a time when many of our team and developers are working from home. The games you'll see on Thursday will look even better when you play them on PS5 with a 4K TV, as you'd expect,” it added.

The firm also recommends viewers to watch the video wearing headphones there there is a ‘cool audio work' in the show as well “and it might be harder to appreciate if it's pumped through your phone or laptop speakers.”

Sony, so far, has revealed the name of the console, DualSense Controller and specifications, but has not unveiled the design of the console yet. The PS5 is set to include a custom eight-core AMD Zen 2 CPU clocked at 3.5GHz (variable frequency) paired with a custom AMD RDNA 2 architecture-based GPU. It will be also equipped with 10.28 teraflops and 36 compute units along with 16GB GDDR6 RAM and a custom 825GB SSD.
