(HT Tech) ![Author Photo](https://images.hindustantimes.com/tech/static/revamp/images/png/HTTech-new-circle-logo.png) ### By HT TECH Sony PlayStation 5 will be made in unprecedented numbers, says Sony. In a recent report, it is said that Sony has vowed to increase the PS5 console production “to levels it has never achieved before”. This is being done in order to keep up with the surging demand. Sony said this in a meeting with investors, wherein it also highlighted the successes and struggles the company has faced since launching the PS5 console. Sony also hopes to sell the PS5 consoles more than the PS4 consoles by 2024. In the report from Gizmodo, it is said that Sony has confirmed increasing the production of the PlayStation 5 console. Sony also said that it was able to sell only 2 million PS5 consoles in the last quarter, which added to the overall quota of 19.3 million units since its launch. There is also some information on how it is going to tackle the chip supply shortage situation. Until then, Sony will turn to multiple suppliers for “greater agility in unstable market conditions” to manage the supply shortages caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and avoid any issues with “logistics and parts inventory”. What remains to be seen is how soon do we get to see Sony PS5 units available ins stocks. At the moment, Sony India is selling the PS5 consoles in limited batches. Microsoft, on the other hand, has been selling the cheaper Xbox Series S console more in frequent sales on Flipkart and Amazon. In fact, the Xbox Series S with its lower price tag and access to the tempting Xbox Game Pass subscription can be had at a much lower price than the Sony PlayStation 5 Digital version. On the contrary, the PS5 is way more powerful than the Xbox Series S, and Microsoft isn’t keen on selling the Xbox Series X console. In fact, Flipkart is selling the Xbox Series S console at its lowest ever price. You will be able to buy the console box at a price of Rs. 30,499, which is a steal deal for gamers on a budget. For that price, you are getting the ability to play games in 2K resolution and up to 120 fps. You also get smart features like Quick Resume, that negates the need to save games while exiting the game.
