Beware! Govt warns Google Chrome users, Know what you should do

If you use Google Chrome browser then this information is must for you! The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In), which is part of the Indian government's Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, has issued a 'high severity' warning to Google Chrome users. The report by the CERT-In office mentioned that the browser Chrome has been found vulnerable in several terms which could be exploited by a cyber attacker to execute the arbitrary code on the users' system.

The government has observed various vulnerabilities in the Google Chrome browser that might allow an attacker to gain access to personal information as well as implant malware to spy on a targeted computer. Because of Type Confusion in V8, Google Chrome has many vulnerabilities, the government advisory mentioned. Tech giant Google already has released a fix to these vulnerabilities in the latest update of Chrome. Hence, the advisory issued by the government suggested that all users should update their browser.

Failing to update the latest version of Google Chrome hikes the possibility of the computer being remotely hacked by the online attackers and the sensitive, personal information may be leaked, the government advisory said. Google mentioned that 22 types of security fixes, which were highlighted by external researchers, have been incorporated in the latest update of Chrome to ensure user privacy. What you should do? The government advisory as well as Google advised Chrome users to update to the latest version. - First, open your Google Chrome Browser

- Go to setting from the three dot option at the top-right corner of your browsing screen

- After that, click on 'About Chrome' in settings. once you click on it, your Google Chrome browser update will be started

- Then 'Relaunch' the Google Chrome. It will reopen after closing for a while.
