Google rolled out a major update to Gmail last year. Now, less than a year later, the company has rolled out another update to the platform that makes using the service a tad bit simpler.

Google has rolled out an update to the web version of Gmail that enables users to resize the Chat and Rooms sections in the navigation bar on the left side. Google says that this would make it easier for users to keep a track of their most important conversations and navigate to the relevant chats faster.

Using this feature is simple. The Chat and the Rooms sections in Gmail can be resized by clicking and dragging the grey coloured section header making it longer or shorter based on one's preferences. It works in a way that is similar to the way the classic Hangouts widgets can be resized.

Now, the newly added functionality may not be the big change that you were looking for, but it does make Gmail's web interface a little bit more flexible and easy to use.

Google said that it has started rolling out this feature to everyone and that it should be available to Google Workspace Essentials, Business Starter, Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Essentials, Enterprise Standard, and Enterprise Plus, as well as G Suite Basic, Business, Education, Enterprise for Education, and nonprofits customers in a couple of days.
