Google launched the Pixel 5 smartphone back in September this year. The phone featured several updates, such as a better camera and smarter security features, over the older Pixel 4 smartphone. In addition to all these, the Pixel 5 smartphone also brought the updated version of Google's camera app.

Version 8.0 of Google's camera app not only brought design upgrades to the app's interface but it also brought several new camera features to the app. Now, word is that the tech giant has started rolling out version 8.1 of its camera app to the Pixel smartphones via a Play Store update. This update brings Pixel 5's camera app to older Pixel smartphones.

To give you a quick brief, the latest edition of Google's camera app, it comes with a new bottom bar and it comes with features such as audio zoom, one-tap zoom adjustments. There's also a cinematic pan video recording feature that enables users in clicking smooth pan shots.

As per a report by 9To5 Google, the update is valid for all Pixel smartphones going back all the way to the Pixel 2 series smartphones and it has started appearing in the Pixel 4 series smartphones.

The report also notes that the cinematic pan feature is appearing only on the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones and there is no word on whether or not the update will arrive in older generation Pixel smartphones or the newer Pixel 4a smartphone. That said, Google has just started rolling out the update. We will know more about the specifics as more Pixel smartphones get the update.
