Here’s how to check how when your Google Photos storage will run out
In case you did not know you Google Photos has stopped giving unlimited photo storage for free. While you figure out a new way to save your photos, there is a way to check how much time you have before you need to find an alternate option.
Google has announced that it is going to stop giving out unlimited photo storage for free on Google Photos. Of course, for most of us saving thousands of photos on Google Photos, this is horrible news and we need to figure out an alternate solution.
However, there is a way to figure out exactly how much time we have before our current storage plan runs out. Google has a convenient link that allows you to check how much time you have before you have to start paying money for more storage.
The tool to check this can be found here.
Once you go to this page, if you are not already logged into your Google account, you should sign in and then the page will display an estimated amount of time before your current storage plan runs out and is completely used up.

This estimated time is based on your personal upload history, so how much time you have depends on whether you upload a lot of large videos or only use Google Photos for an occasional photo now and then.
The tool shows you exactly how much space is being taken up by photos and videos and also how much space is being taken up by other Google products like Gmail and Google Drive.
This does confuse you tough, it is unclear if the estimate the Google is giving you, about four years for us when we checked, is based on uploads to just Google Photos or the uploads to the Drive as well.
There is a ‘Learn More' button but that just pulls up a help page with details about the new policy changes that are going to be implemented by June 2021.

Google ending unlimited storage for high quality photos is definitely not good news no matter how much time you have in hand, however, it's fair that the company is giving us a heads-up about how much time we have in hand.
Just to make sure you are not at the danger of losing some valuable memories, head over and check how much time you have.
