From catalogue shortcut to media guidelines, here are all the features coming to WhatsApp

WhatsApp has rolled out the Always Mute button in its iOS-based app. This feature enables users to mute a conversation for either eight hours, or a week or forever.

WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world. One of the many things that makes it popular among people from all walks of life is its ever-evolving feature set. In the past couple of weeks, reports have detailed a bunch of new features that will be coming available in the coming days.

So, here's what happened in WhatsApp this week:

Catalogue Shortcut

This button gives users easy access to a business's catalogue. As per a report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp has rolled out this feature in its Business app for Android and iOS. It has also released this feature on WhatsApp Web and its desktop-based app.

Always Mute button

WhatsApp has rolled out the Always Mute button in its iOS-based app. This feature enables users to mute a conversation for either eight hours, or a week or forever.

New attachment icons

The Facebook-based messaging app has also updated attachment icons in WhatsApp Web. The company has essentially changed the colour scheme of its Camera and Gallery icons to match with the rest of the icons. These icons are now available on WhatsApp Web.

New storage usage

The company has also started rolling out the revamped Storage Usage section to the beta testers. This feature gives a detailed breakup of the storage space occupied by the app such that WhatsApp users can decide what all media files they want to delete.

Media Guidelines

WhatsApp has also started rolling out a feature called Media Guidelines that enables users to align stickers and text while editing images, videos and GIFs.
