WhatsApp gets new attachment icons, always mute button and more

Lastly, WhatsApp has released new attachment icons on WhatsApp Web. This feature essentially changes the colours of the camera and gallery icons.

WhatsApp has rolled out a bunch of new features on its platform. The list includes catalogue shortcut, new attachment icons and an always mute button.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the blog that extensively tracks changes in the Facebook-owned messaging app, WhatsApp has rolled out a Catalog Shortcut button in its WhatsApp Business app for iOS and Android. The company has also added the same shortcut to WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp’s desktop app. The update is available in WhatsApp Desktop app version 2.2039.9.

To give you a quick brief about this feature, it gives users easy access to a businesses’ entire catalogue. This button is placed right next to the search button on the top right corner of the app.

Next in line is the Always Mute button. This feature is available in WhatsApp for iOS version 2.20.110.23 of the app. This feature will enable users to mute a chat for 8 hours or one week or forever. The blog site says that the feature is also available on WhatsApp Web and WhatsApp’s desktop-based app. 

Lastly, the company has released new attachment icons on WhatsApp Web. This feature essentially changes the colours of the camera and gallery icons. The change is in sync with all other icons that are available in a dual-colour palette. While multi-coloured camera icon is now available in two shades of Pink, the gallery button that was initially available in varying shades of Purple is now available in two shades of the colour.
