After buying a new mobile don't start using it immediately. Charge it fully according to the specifications for that handset.

2. Limited talktime:

You may be getting an unlimited talktime courtesy; a great plan by your service provider, but you are limiting the days of your sound hearing. Mobile phone emit harmful radiation that may damage ears and even brain cells. So, keep the usage limited.

3. Wait and watch:

The harmful radiation emitted from your mobile, is at its peak when you dial someone's number, because it is searching the network then. Don't bring it immediately to your ear.

4. Unwired:

Never talk on phone while charging. Also, keep mobiles away from heart patients with pacemakers installed.

5. Keep in mind:

Don't clean it with water. Keep away from electronic goods. And yes, don't yelp in public places while talking.
