WhatsApp is arguably the most popular messaging app in the world. It is constantly working on improving existing functions and adding new features to its platform. In the past couple of weeks, reports have detailed that features such as wallpapers and multi-device support are coming to the messaging platform. This week we got to know about more such features.

So, here are all the features coming to WhatsApp:

Expiring Media

WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will enable users to share media files that vanish without a trace. This week we got to know more details about this feature. For starters, the expiring media feature will be represented by a clock icon. Users will be able to share expiring media files by tapping on the clock icon that will appear right next to the image icon that appears when users pick an image from the gallery.

In addition to that reports also detailed that the expiring media feature will be called View Once. The media file shared using this feature will disappear once the recipient leaves the chatbox. The deleted media file will be replaced by a message that reads “View once photo expired”. This feature is still in the development phase and there is no word on when WhatsApp will roll it out to the public.

New call button

WhatsApp, as per a report by WABetaInfo, is rolling out a new feature in the beta version of its WhatsApp Business for Android app. This feature will unify the voice call and video call buttons into one call button. When users click on it they will see a popup button that will enable them to pick between making a video call and a voice call. This will also make room for the catalogue shortcut in the Business app that will be placed right next to the call button.
