Google will allow users to host free Google Meet calls longer than 60 minutes until March 31, 2021. The policy was set to expire on September 30.

Google in April this year had made Google Meet free for everyone. The company also made calls unlimited through September 30 (now extended). The unlimited calls are capped to 24 hours, though. Google had earlier hinted at doing away with the free calls.

“As we look ahead to a holiday season with less travel and important milestones like family reunions, PTA meetings and weddings hosted over video, we want to continue helping those who rely on Meet to stay in touch over the coming months. As a sign of our commitment, today we're continuing unlimited Meet calls (up to 24 hours) in the free version through March 31, 2021 for Gmail accounts,” said Google in a blog post.

Google also pointed out some of the features it has rolled out for Meet users. For instance, users can now cast Meet calls to their TV. Users can also access the Meet platform through Nest Hub Max. Other recent features include background blur and digital whiteboard.

Google Meet recently added the ability to see up to 49 people in a conference. You can enable through the auto and tiled modes. This feature will be available to both G Suite and personal users in the coming weeks.

Separately, Google has rolled out noise cancellation for video meetings on the Google Meet app. The feature is rolling out for both Android and iOS users. It will be initially available to G Suite Enterprise for Education and G Suite Enterprise users.
