Netflix offers free one-month upgrade to new subscribers

New Netflix subscribers in India are getting a free upgrade to a more expensive plan for free.

Netflix has a new promotional offer for its new subscribers in India. The streaming service is offering free one-month upgrades to its higher subscription plans.

Netflix's new offer is only for new subscribers, and plans for the existing subscribers remain unchanged. How the offer works is when a new subscriber opts for a Netflix plan they will be upgraded to the more expensive plan for free and for one month. For example, if a subscriber selects the ‘Basic' plan priced at ₹499, they will get the ₹649 ‘Standard' plan.

Similarly, those who select the Standard plan will be upgraded to the ‘Premium' plan which is priced at ₹799. Once the first month is over users will have the option to either continue with the upgraded plan or choose a different one.

Netflix plans vary quite a lot so the upgrade can make quite a difference. Under its Basic plan, users can watch it one screen at a time and in HD format. Netflix's Standard plan offers everything that comes with the Basic plan but supports two screens.

The most expensive plan Netflix offers is its Premium plan priced at ₹899 per month. Under this plan, users get UHD content and it supports up to four screens at once.

Netflix has another plan which is priced at ₹199 but this is a mobile-only plan. The promotional offer doesn't cover this plan.
