Tech Wrap: TikTok scam, Horizon Zero Dawn launching on PC and more
The start of the week is pretty dull even in the tech world. Today was no different but we did get some interesting events to talk about. Xiaomi’s rumoured Mi TV Stick appeared on Google Play Console hinting at its imminent launch. TikTok is no longer available in India but it’s still not out completely and this time it’s through a scam.
Poco M2 Pro will launch tomorrow in India, and we got to know more about this smartphone. An old PS4 game suddenly started making waves. We’ll talk about later. And lastly, Aarogya Setu has a new update that will probably make many users happy.
So let’s take a look at all these tech news.
Xiaomi Mi TV Stick
Xiaomi Mi TV Stick has been rumoured for quite some time now. It’s now appeared on Google Play Console along with its key specs. The Mi TV Stick will be powered by Amlogic 1.2GHz AMLS805Y processor paired with 1GB of RAM. It will run on Android Pie along with customisations. There’s still no launch date for the Mi TV Stick yet.
There’s an ongoing TikTok scam in India that’s being infiltrated via SMS. An SMS claiming that TikTok is available in India as TikTok Pro is doing the rounds. It tells users to download the APK file of the app which looks quite like the original TikTok app. The app doesn’t do anything even after users grant permissions for mic and camera. This TikTok Pro probably contains malware and users shouldn’t install it.
Poco M2 Pro
