WhatsApp Desktop app Delete for everyone coming! Voice note update on horizon
WhatsApp is set to save users in crisis situations - WhatsApp Desktop app Delete for everyone feature is coming.
WhatsApp has rolled out a number of interesting features on its platform this year. The WhatsApp features' list includes View Once images and videos, end-to-end chat backup for Android app and joinable group calls to name a few. In addition to this, the company also rolled out features like variable playback speed for audio messages and payment stickers for its users. While these features have already been rolled out to WhatsApp's main apps, the company is working on tonnes of new features such as multi-device support, Universal Windows Platform, and Communities to name a few. Now, reports have detailed a couple of new features that are being developed by the Meta-owned messaging app. One that is of critical importance is WhatsApp Desktop app Delete for everyone feature.
Firstly, WhatsApp is working on developing a Delete for Everyone feature for its Desktop-based app. Most WhatsApp users would know that the messaging app enables its users to delete a sent message from their own chat windows and that of the contact with whom they have shared the message within a specific time frame. However, this feature isn't available on WhatsApp's Desktop-based app or WhatsApp Web. This means that WhatsApp users who are accessing the app from their PCs need to go back to their smartphones to delete a particular message. But that is about to change. Yes, WhatsApp Desktop app Delete for everyone feature is coming soon.
This feature, when released on WhatsApp's Desktop-based app, will work in a way that is similar to WhatsApp's Android and iOS-based apps. WABetaInfo reports that users of WhatsApp's Desktop-based app will be able to delete messages for everyone older than 1 hour, 8 minutes, 16 seconds at a later date. The blog site also said that WhatsApp is planning to change the time limit to 7 days and 8 minutes in a future update. This feature is still under development and there is no word on when it will be available for testing.
In addition to this, WhatsApp is also planning to make modifications to its Variable Playback speed option. As of now, WhatsApp users can play a voice note at 0.5x, 1x, and 2x speeds. Now, the blog site says that WhatsApp is planning to roll out a minor update to the feature that will enable users to play a forwarded voice note at variable playback speeds -- something that was not possible to do previously. This feature is being developed for both -- WhatsApp iOS and Android-based apps. WhatsApp's Beta users will be able to access it via the next update.
