Realme 2 India launch today: How to watch livestream, expected specifications

Realme 2 is set to launch in India today. Here’s everything you need to know about the new smartphone.

Realme, which recently parted ways with Oppo, is set to launch its second smartphone in India on Tuesday. Called Realme 2, the smartphone is expected to come with improved features and larger battery among other upgrades.

The launch event of Realme 2 is set to begin at 12:30pm. Realme will be livestreaming the launch event for viewers in India. You can follow this YouTube link to watch the livestream. Alternatively, you can also follow the company's social media pages for updates.

Ahead of the official Realme 2 launch, the company has disclosed a few important features of the smartphone. For instance, Realme 2 will join the growing list of smartphones to sport a notch on the front. The smartphone is also expected to come with dual-cameras. The phone will also have a bigger 4,230mAh battery. Realme has also disclosed that the phone will be available exclusively on Flipkart.

Realme 2 will compete with top mid-range and budget phones such as Moto G5 Plus and Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro.

Its predecessor Realme 1 came with a 6-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. Powered by a MediaTek Helio P20 AI processor, Realme 1 is powered by 3GB/4GB/6GB of RAM. The phone is available in 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options.

Realme 1 has a single camera on the back with 13-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel front camera. It runs on ColorOS 5.0 based on Android 8.1 Oreo out-of-the-box. The phone is powered by a 3,410mAh battery. Other key features of the phone include dual-SIM support, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. 

Realme 1 base model with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage is priced at ₹8,990. The 4GB RAM with 64GB storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB storage models are priced at ₹10,990 and ₹13,990.
