Today was one of the biggest days in the world of tech as Apple launched a couple of watches and iPad devices. Besides this, we saw Xiaomi launching the Redmi 9i, while Oppo slashed the price of its earphones in India. Reliance also introduced its Jio Cricket plans to give users easy access to Disney+Hotstar just before the cricket season begins.

The firm has introduced its new iPad Air and the 8th-generation of its entry-level iPad with a new design and bumped-up specifications. These come in addition to Apple Watch Series 6 and Watch SE models. No, there were no iPhones this time. On the services side of things we saw the launch of Apple One bundle subscription and Apple Fitness+.

Reliance launches Jio Cricket Plans with bundled data and Disney+Hotstar VIP access

The new tariff plans for upcoming cricket season are called as Jio Cricket Plans and includes as many as 5 plans. People availing these plans can also watch free live Dream11 IPL matches through Disney+ Hotstar app.

Facebook launches Watch Together for Messenger to let you watch videos with your friends

Facebook has launched Watch Together, a new feature that lets you watch videos with your friends and family together over Messenger video call and Messenger Rooms. You can also watch the reactions of your friends through the live video. The feature is free and rolling out for Android and iOS users globally this week.

YouTube launches its TikTok spin-off 'Shorts' in India

YouTube Shorts has first launched in India in beta. It is worth noting that India offered the largest userbase to TikTok before the application was banned in the country. That said, YouTube Shorts primarily focuses on creators and artists who want to upload videos using their phones.

Vi launches GIGAnet, an integrated 4G network for its users

Vi said that the GIGAnet is the “result of the largest network integration completed in record time and the first-of-its-kind spectrum refarming exercise in the world.” The combined 4G network reaches nearly 1 billion people in the country. Redmi 9i with 4GB RAM launched in India, price starts at Rs 8,299

With price starting at Rs 8,299, the new Redmi 9i will be available on September 18 via Flipkart, mi.com, Mi Home, and offline retail partners. The top-end model of the phone is priced at Rs 9,299. Redmi 9i comes in Midnight Black, Sea Blue, and Nature Green colour options.
