The idea is generally to make tasks easier or simply to beautify or raise the entertainment quotient. So, what are we talking about? WhatsApp is about to change again and here we present to you the upcoming features that are likely to be implemented in future updates. Yes, WhatsApp is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world and the 100 billion personal messages that are exchanged on its platform every day are a testament to its rising popularity. One of the reasons for this rising popularity is that it is constantly adding new features for users.

So here are the top five WhatsApp features coming to the Android app in the coming days:

WhatsApp Status Updates excluded from backup

The company is looking at exclude WhatsApp Status updates from its backups saved on Google Drive. WABetaInfo reports that this is being done in order to save precious storage space. Now, Google Drive provides endless storage for WhatsApp backups. But word is that WhatsApp is planning to make the backup available locally on users' smartphones, which is why it is planning to exclude status updates -- which disappear in 24 hours, from it.

WhatsApp Disappearing mode

Another feature that the company is working on is called disappearing mode. All messages sent after enabling this feature will disappear after a time period of seven days. Also, once enabled users will be notified that all of their chats will get deleted after a week's time. This feature has been confirmed by Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.

WhatsApp End-to-end backups

In the meanwhile, WhatsApp is planning to encrypt backups on Google Drive with the same backup technique that it uses to encrypt all chats on its platform. The encryption key that WhatsApp will use to decrypt backups and give users access to their conversations and other updates will only contain numeric digits and lowercase letters between ‘a' and ‘f'. This will turn the encryption key into a hex code and prevent unauthorised access to WhatsApp backups.

WhatsApp Flash calls

To hasten the process of getting verified quickly while logging in WhatsApp, the company is planning to introduce a feature called Flash Calls. As a part of this method, WhatsApp will call a user's phone number and then automatically end the call “verifying the last phone number in your phone's log is equal to the number that gives you the 6-digit code,” the blog site noted.

WhatsApp Review voice messages

This feature will enable users to review a voice message before sharing it with the recipient. As of now, users can either record or delete a voice message before sending it. Now, word is that the company is working on a feature that will add a stop button to the existing setup. Pressing on this stop button will let users review the recorded message, from where they can either keep recording their message or delete it.
