YouTube suffered a major global outage this morning with the video-sharing platform failing to play videos. The outage affected users in the US, Europe, South America, Australia, Japan, and India. The service is now back online.
According to downdetector, YouTube users started facing issues with the platform around 5 AM IST. The tracker reveals most users faced difficulties with watching videos. Uploading videos was also affected. Affected users took to Twitter to raise the problem.

YouTube was quick to acknowledge the issue and said it was working on a fix.
After almost two hours of outage, YouTube said the service was back online, without divulging the reason for the outage.
