The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is a half-yearly event held by Samsung to showcase its new products, such as smartphones, tablets, watches, laptops, foldable smartphones, and more. All the products unveiled during this event are from its ...Read More

Can I watch the event online?

While the physical event will be hosted at COEX in Samseong-dong of Gangnam-gu district of Seoul in South Korea, there will be a limited number of attendees invited, which would largely include people from the media, popular tech reviewers, as well as other dignitaries.

Others can watch the event online. Samsung has historically live-streamed its events from its online newsroom and its YouTube channel. Interested people will see the video popping up around 24-48 hours before the event on the channel’s homepage. Viewers can open it at the designated time (to be announced) to watch the event. We will share a link to the event here once it goes up.

What should we expect from this event?

As per various reports and leaks, four different product classes can be unveiled at the July event. While foldable smartphones will be the highlight, a new Galaxy Watch, Samsung Galaxy S23 FE, as well as a new Galaxy Tab, can also be announced.

Smartphone launches

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

Samsung's flagship foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 5, is expected to get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 which could give it a performance boost while also improving app optimization. There is little information about any camera upgrades but reports claim that it will keep the same form factor and design as its predecessor. It can, however, have a lighter and thinner design with a new hinge. The biggest rumor about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 is that it can witness a price decrease and possibly even undercut its newest competitor, the Google Pixel Fold.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is also likely to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. Additionally, it can also get a design upgrade. According to reports, the Galaxy Z Flip 5 could get a giant 3.5-inch outer display which is nearly double the 1.9-inch cover display on its predecessor. It can also get the new hinge that is being developed for the Galaxy Z Fold 5 to further reduce the crease and improve its structural integrity.

Samsung Galaxy S23 FE

A surprise contender in the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event could be the inclusion of the Samsung Galaxy S23 FE. Recently, some leaked renders of the smartphones were circulating online. Another leak revealed its 3C certification, which mentioned that the smartphone will get 5G connectivity and a 25W charger. It is also touted to get a 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. It can be equipped with either the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 or the Exynos 2200 chipset.

Smartwatch launch

Samsung Galaxy Watch 6 series

While there is no confirmation about the Galaxy Watch 6 series, Samsung can unveil it, just like it did last year, at the same event. However, only a handful of reports have surfaced which give us a glimpse at Samsung's next smartwatch. According to reports, the Galaxy Watch 6 could feature curved glass and improved battery life. Reports last year claimed that Samsung was aiming to add blood glucose monitoring to its smartwatches and it could finally make its way to Galaxy Watch 6 this year, although it is quite a long shot.

Tablet launch

Samsung Galaxy Tab S9

We might also see Samsung reveal its latest Galaxy series tablets which would include a standard version, a Plus version, and an Ultra version, according to a report. All three tablets could get Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 under the hood along with OLED displays, meaning a big upgrade for the Galaxy Tab S9 series as its predecessor featured a TFT LCD display. Reports also claim that the Galaxy Tab S9 series could be identical to its predecessor but could feature improved cameras taken from the Galaxy S23 series.

There are also some rumors that suggest that Samsung can reveal its own mixed-reality headset to give competition to the Apple Vision Pro and Meta Quest 3. However, no details are known about it yet.

It should be noted that all the information is based on unofficial reports and should be taken with a pinch of salt until official information from Samsung.
